Program Description

History

The National Minority Faculty Identification Program was inaugurated in the summer of 1985 by Southwestern University to serve as a bridge between minority faculty candidates seeking employment and institutions of higher education. The Program was transferred to the Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Texas Tech University in July 2010. The program became The National Registry of Diverse & Strategic Faculty (The REGISTRY) and continues to connect institutions of higher education with diverse faculty candidates.

Current Program

The REGISTRY is a unique resource for current and prospective faculty members from underrepresented groups, seeking to open faculty positions. As the only database of diverse and strategic faculty candidates supported by a major university, the REGISTRY strives to provide the most diverse and qualified pool of faculty candidates to colleges and universities around the country.

The REGISTRY provides an online database for candidates from underrepresented groups to enter their relevant education and employment information, as well as the ability to search job postings listed by our subscribing institutions.

Advertisements are placed in The Chronicle of Higher Education and other similar publications each academic year inviting current and prospective faculty members from underrepresented groups interested in teaching positions at institutions of higher education to participate in The REGISTRY.

Program Limitations

The REGISTRY is not designed or intended to provide professional recruitment/placement services for either the subscribing institutions or prospective candidates. It serves only to coordinate and facilitate participation in the online identification of prospective faculty candidates and is not involved in any of the institutions' selection processes.

Prospective candidates should contact subscribing institutions directly for additional information regarding available positions, application status, or any other related topics. Candidates have the option of including their curriculum vitae in their uploaded information.
